About Me

I am Professor Nira, an award-winning mathematician named the Best of Africa; Excellent Mathematician of the Year 2023 by FIN and Forbes. Recognized for five consecutive years in the PowerList Top 100 Most Influential Black People in the UK, I hold an Honorary Doctorate from Bath University and serve as a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University. My expertise spans mathematical communication, historical research on Black heroes of mathematics, and AI applications. I am dedicated to making mathematics accessible and inspiring the next generation of mathematicians.

Education & Training

I am Professor Nira, an award-winning mathematician recognized by FIN and Forbes as the Best of Africa; Excellent Mathematician of the Year 2023. For five consecutive years, I have been honored to be listed in the PowerList 2022 Top 100 Most Influential Black People in the UK. My contributions to the field of mathematics have been celebrated with an Honorary Doctorate from Bath University, acknowledging my status as one of the most eminent applied mathematicians in the UK.

In 2018, I proudly earned the title of the World’s Most Interesting Mathematician by winning the Big Math Off competition. I continue to inspire and educate as a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University. My passion for mathematics extends beyond academia, as I strive to make complex mathematical concepts accessible and engaging for all.
